A low-pressure system south of New England will move east over the Atlantic on Monday, bringing heavy snow across the Northeast. Areas of the Mid-Atlantic may see light rain or pockets of freezing rain, creating slick travel conditions. Snow will also develop along the Appalachians on Monday.
Rain will move along the Southeast Coast as a cold front pushes offshore, while light rain continues across Florida through Monday afternoon. Light snow will linger in the Northeast on Tuesday, with lake-effect snow developing downwind of the Great Lakes Monday into Tuesday.
Meanwhile, high pressure over the Central Plains will cause upslope snow across parts of the Central and Southern High Plains through early Monday. Along the Northwest Coast, weak onshore flow will bring light rain overnight Monday, becoming heavier late Tuesday as the next front moves onshore.
